RRC 51 Call for Volunteers

Volunteer’s leader needed for the 51st Regional Restoration Camp

Are you a former RRC camp participant?

Are you enthusiastic about the idea of being fully involved in the implementation of a camp?

We are excited to inform you that we are now looking for volunteers for the 51st Regional Restoration Camp!

This year the Regional Restoration Camp will focus on the documentation of Historic Places with 21st Century Technology in order to produce orthophotography and topographic maps for some representative cultural heritage assets on the Ohrid Region between Albania and North Macedonia. This documentation will enable local institutions to understand, monitor, and maintain the region’s monuments, serving as a valuable resource for future restorative interventions and heritage conservation practices. It represents an excellent opportunity for participants to gain knowledge and at the same time contribute to the documentation of significant cultural heritage assets, thanks also to the professional expertise of our local Camp partners, who are experienced documentation specialists and local heritage experts of the region.

Your involvement as a volunteer is very precious in the running of the camps: you become the bridge between the experts, organizers and participants. You make the experience of the latter more rewarding, by bringing your previous experiences and sharing lessons learned.

Why volunteering for RRC?

While you will be gaining theoretical and practical knowledge about different documentation methods and techniques, you will also have a key role to play in dealing with logistical, intercultural and social aspects during the camp. This is a valuable opportunity to gain new skills and build knowledge and experience in the field of documentation and conservation of cultural heritage, working in close cooperation with experts, lecturers and other like-minded participants.

What will be your duties?

Volunteers will receive instructions related to their responsibilities during the Camp. They may be asked to assist with the following areas:

Organizational tasks (responsibility over the registration, logistics)
