We are delighted to extend an invitation for you to participate in the first regional conference, B+CARE: Balkan Cultural Aid Response for Emergencies. B+CARE is jointly organized by Cultural Heritage without Borders Foundations in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Kosovo, in the framework of the Cultural Emergency Response (CER) Regional Hub in the Western Balkans. This significant event will take place on 20 June 2023 in Tirana at Hotel International Tirana.
The conference aims to address the urgent need to reduce disaster risk and build resilience in the face of increasing climate change impacts. By bringing together professionals from diverse backgrounds, we aim to explore collaborative and creative approaches and strategies for heritage resilience. This platform will showcase international and regional multidisciplinary efforts, fostering the sharing of knowledge and experiences to enhance our capacity to protect and preserve cultural heritage.
Your expertise and insights would greatly enrich the discussions at the conference. We believe that your valuable contribution will contribute to the success of this event, as we collectively work towards building better capacities in heritage resilience. Your presence as an esteemed participant will provide an excellent opportunity to share your experiences and learn from others in the field.
The Cultural Heritage without Borders Foundations in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Kosovo are actively engaged in the preservation of cultural heritage, encompassing inclusive conservation, management, training, and interpretation of cultural assets. However, we recognize the need to further enhance the proficiency of heritage professionals in utilizing tools for damage assessment and developing a comprehensive understanding of disaster risk management cycles.
The conference will bring together approximately fifty participants from different countries across the region, representing the civil emergency and cultural heritage sectors. We will provide you with further details about the event in due course.
