The Foundation Cultural Heritage without Borders Albania (CHwB Albania) is an independent non-governmental organization dedicated to rescuing and preserving tangible and intangible cultural heritage affected by conflict, neglect or natural disasters. Background information

Cultural Heritage without Borders Albania is looking for a motivated Architect to join our multidisciplinary team. The selected candidate will contribute to the design, planning, and implementation of conservation and adaptive reuse projects for historic buildings and cultural sites across Albania.

Tasks and Responsibilities

The Project Architects’ tasks and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Participate in the design and supervision of conservation, restoration, and adaptive reuse projects;
  • Contribute to architectural documentation, analysis, and project reporting;
  • Collaborate with engineers, conservators, and craftspeople to ensure quality and authenticity in project implementation;
  • Support project proposal development and preparation of technical documentation;
  • Engage in fieldwork, surveys, and site supervision as required;
  • Contribute to educational and community programs related to heritage conservation.

Qualifications and Personal Attributes

  • Degree in Architecture or related field (Master’s preferred);
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in architecture, preferably in conservation or cultural heritage projects;
  • Strong design and technical drawing skills (AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Suite);
  • Knowledge of restoration principles and local building materials is an asset;
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills;
  • Fluency in Albanian and good command of English (spoken and written
