Looking for Volunteer Camp leaders
Volunteer’s leader needed for the 48th Regional restoration Camp
Are you a former RRC camp participant?
Are you enthusiastic about the idea of being fully involved in the implementation of a camp?
If the answer is YES, we are excited to inform you that we are now looking for volunteers for the 48th regional restoration camp!
This year the regional restoration camp will focus on the conservation and interpretation of artefacts from the collections of the ethnographic museums in Puka (Albania) and Gjakova (Kosovo). By volunteering, you will be able to contribute to the conservation and promotion of museums artefacts, and do your part in strengthening the connection of communities with their heritage.
Your involvement as a volunteer is very precious in the running of the camps: you become the bridge between the craftspeople, experts, organizers and participants. You make the experience of the latter more rewarding, by bringing your previous experiences and sharing lessons learned.
Why volunteering for RRC?
As well as developing theoretical and practical knowledge of artefact conservation and interpretation, you will have a key role to play in dealing with logistical, intercultural and social aspects during the camp. This is a valuable opportunity to gain new skills and build knowledge and experience in the field of cultural heritage, working in close cooperation with craftspeople, artisans and lecturers.
What will be your duties?
Volunteers will receive instructions related to their responsibilities during the Camp. They may be asked to assist with the following areas:
Organizational tasks (responsibility over the registration, logistics)
Responsibility over the working sites (assisting the crafts, documenting, implementing safety measures, making sure everyone is working towards the final result)
Communication/Community (being the bridge between organizers and participants, translations, facilitating discussions, communicating with local community and media)
Eligibility Requirements
Be a former participant of a CHwB Albania Regional Restoration Camp
Speak fluent English. Speaking Albanian is an added value
Be an honest, cheerful and efficient worker
Expenses
CHwB Albania will cover all in-country costs for volunteers, including accommodation, meal allowance, excursions, travel within the country and costs connected to volunteer duties. Volunteers coming from outside the country will have to cover their own costs for travel to the country where the camp is located.
