Iris Pojani is a distinguished Albanian academic and archaeologist. She holds a PhD in Archaeology from the Academy of Sciences of Albania and has been a professor since 2013 at the University of Tirana, where she heads the Department of Archaeology and Cultural Heritage. Dr. Pojani has contributed significantly to the study and preservation of Albanian cultural heritage and has been actively involved in various international and national projects.
Her career includes roles as the director of the Department of Cultural Heritage of Albania and the International Center of Albanian Archaeology. She is a licensed expert in archaeological services and has participated in projects such as the Lexicon Iconographicum Mythologiae Classicae (LIMC) and Thesaurus Cultus et Ritum Antiquorum (ThesCRA) in collaboration with the CNRS in France. Additionally, she has consulted on initiatives like the UNESCO and UNDP project Culture and Heritage for Social and Economic Development.
